Below we provide responses to many frequently asked questions about our USA SMS services.
Why do you offer 3 different USA SMS services?
Each service; our standard SMS service, Esendex Alert, and Dedicated Codes, provide a different level of service. All utilise the same Esendex messaging platform for excellent throughputs. Many customers find that the 3 levels provide an excellent upgrade path: they can market test with our standard or Esendex Alert service before committing to a higher level of cost.
Can I use Web SMS, Email SMS and the SMS API with the USA SMS services?
Yes. As with our other services these are available at no charge.
Are there any restrictions on using these services?
Only those imposed by the networks themselves. Our standard service is a send-only one for example so your Inbox would not dispaly any received messages.
Why don't you provide full support for delivery receipts in the US?
The networks to do all provide this service. You may actually see many messages reported as "Delivered". This status is returned from the networks rather than the handset so should not be treated in the same way as the a standard delivery receipt.
And why are message lengths so different?
Again, this is because of the restrictions of the networks. Remember, many US cellular networks are not GSM networks.
