Voice SMS is the brand new service from Esendex that reads your messages to the recipients. This service is available to all users who have an Esendex account.
Sending Voice SMS messages can be accessed from the Compose Page . New accounts will be fully activated but older accounts will need to have this feature enabled in the Options page.

Once Voice SMS has been activated, a new radio button will appear above the message box next to the SMS, Wap Push and Unicode options.

Selecting this will mean that all messages will be converted to speech when they reach the handset. You can specific which language/accent you would like the message read in using the drop down beneath the message box

This won’t translate from one language to another but it will respect the accents and inflections associated with each language so that the message is more accurate for the recipient.
If there are languages which you require but aren’t displayed in the list please let us know.
Once the recipients have been chosen, the message typed in, and the language selected, you can just press Send as normal.
Long messaging is supported with Voice SMS just as it is with Text SMS messages, with the maximum length 612 characters, and each message part used being deducted as a message credit. You currently cannot send a mixture of voice and text messages in one go.
Once the messages have been sent you’ll see a progress bar just as you would with regular SMS messages, and the status of each message can be monitored in the Sent Messages Page .
We’ve introduced some new statuses to reflect the different processes involved.
