Message Validity Period
The Message Validity Period is the number of hours that the networks will attempt to deliver the message for in the event that the message cannot be delivered immediately. The general network default is 72 hours but you can reduce this if the message information is only useful within a certain time period.
To get the maximum retry time, please enter in 0 as the validity period and the networks will attempt to send for as long as possible.
If the Validity Period passes and the message still cannot be delivered, the message will show as Expired.
The validity period is in place to reduce the amount of time a message can be retried in the event that it cannot be delivered immediately. It shouldn't be used to try and extend the retry time and the networks may automatically fail the message if the validity period is greater than 72 hours.
Please note, the validity period is a request to the networks, which they may disregard without notice.
Account Label
This allows you to change the reference that you can see when you log in to make the management of the system easier for you if you have multiple accounts. Please note that this does NOT replace your account reference, it just places a label over it, and so you will need to know your reference for integrating with email or any of our APIs.
Service Alias
Selecting Service Alias allows you to create an originator label for the messages that are sent from some Messenger accounts. The textual label must not exceed 11 alphanumeric characters. Note: recipients are unable to reply to a message if the Service Alias option has been set. However, messages can still be sent to your unique account number. If you place a valid mobile number in the service alias, people will be able to reply to that handset.
Please note; for premium accounts this option is disabled as end users must always be able to see the shortcode they have received messages from. Setting an originator for premium accounts will result in them having a Failed Authentication error and won't be processed.
Allow Voice Messages On Your Account
When this box is ticked it will enable voice messaging on your account and will display a new message type on the compose page.
Show Full Inbox Messages
When this option is selected the inbox will show the full message on the main screen instead of just the summary.
Track When Messages Are Read
When this is selected, unread message will display in bold and read messages will show the date and time that they were read and the username of the person who opened them first.
Auto Add Contacts
With Auto-add Contacts selected anyone texting into your account will be added as a contact. If this is selected for a premium account, a group called 'Subscribers' will automatically be created and will add new subscribers as they come in and remove subscribers if they send in the stop command, so the group will always reflect the current amount of active subscribers at any time.
Technical Email Notification
When this option is checked, notifications of technical difficulties are forwarded to the specified email address entered in and is normally used in conjunction with the application notification retry system.
